Youth Ministry

Coordinator:  Barb Uhlenhake, 419-678-8116

*St. Mary CYO is a Catholic Youth organization for Young Catholics at St. Mary in Philothea. It includes youth from 7th -12th grades. The main purpose of the organization is to guide young Catholics to live Christian lives from a young age, develop trust among peers and help them to continue to grow in faith and knowledge throughout their lives.

*Most of the CYO activities involve serving their parish church, such as helping with candy sales, parish picnic, lunch stand at the Young Farmers sale, Men’s Sodality chicken dinner, and the St. Anthony Dinner Theater as well as providing a breakfast for the parish. Many of our members also take part in the CYO basketball program.

*The CYO’s primary project is serving at weddings and helping with clean up after meals.
A large part of the funds they raise is given to charity or to someone in need.

*Wednesday night meetings take place approximately 5-6 times a year.
